(2/2007)  »Still object in motion Want to create a website with several cars in motion? Short of driving next to one with my camera out a window, I knew I needed to fake it in Photoshop. I knew that an hour before dark would capture the best light for this project, so at 7 pm on a California Summer, six cars came rolling into my local parking lot. »Painting Beauty Froma my last face painting tutorial, I showed how to blend colors and produce some special effects. Now I will show how to bring an image to life with the right color choice, saturation and contrast. »Concept Art Fairy The painting was done for Gate - cards computer game, I'm currently working on. Snow covered most of the earth as I drove Ole Gray, a friends Chevy van missing the driver's window along with no heater' in the freezing cold air to location near Yosemite. Stopped the van to create images with my Hasselblad using my chrome ringed Softar 1 filter that had the perfect amount of scratches to yield unmatchable results. Getting back to Modesto and checking my equipment, I noticed that my Softar 1 filter was missing, it wasn't on the lens case or anywhere in the van. Realizing I must have dropped it at the only location I stopped, my heart sank knowing that losing this one of a kind soft focus filter would bring a certain style of my work to an end. »Texture Modeling Creating a scene has many steps that each can occupy unlimited amounts of time. The best way to finish a project is to set a deadline and develop a good workflow. It is easy to spend too much time on anyone one detail but learning to balance your time and coming up with shortcuts is the way to go. When you create a complex scene or game level sometimes creating textures is a bottleneck. The main focus of this tutorial is one solution to overcome that obstacle. »Walking down a futuristic street With the techniques covered in this tutorial you will be able to produce animated title graphics and add static objects to live footage. In this example we will make it appear as if someone is walking down a futuristic street by using of similar techniques.
